Ulcanix + Ponix
Starting with Fire King Courtier Ulcanix lets you grab Sacred Fire King Garunix directly, ensuring you have options in formats where Droll & Lock Bird is present:
- If you go uninterrupted, you can end on Fire King High Avatar Garunix + Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf, with a Fire King High Avatar Kirin in hand to start your plays;
- If Droll hits on Ulcanix's effect, you are able to pivot into the Ulcanix + any FIRE Beast, Beast-Warrior or Winged Beast line;
- Finally, if it is activated after Legendary Fire King Ponix's effect, you are able to end on a Garunix Eternity, Hyang of the Fire Kings setup, with a Level 8 Ulcanix, Sacred and Ponix on the field.
On the other hand, if Droll isn't an issue, starting with Ponix allows you to set up an early monster negate, or two board wipes, depending on the route you choose to follow.
This combo plays into Nibiru, the Primal Being - read the section at the end for more details on how to recover.

Steps
- Normal Summon Fire King Courtier Ulcanix.
- Activate Ulcanix: destroy Legendary Fire King Ponix, add Sacred Fire King Garunix from your Deck to your hand, then declare on resolution that Ulcanix is now Level 8.
- Activate Sacred: Special Summon it from your hand.
- Activate Sacred again: destroy Fire King High Avatar Kirin in your Deck.
- Activate High Kirin: Special Summon Ponix from the GY.
- Activate Ponix: add Fire King Sanctuary from your Deck to your hand.
- Activate Sanctuary: place Fire King Island in the Field Zone.
- Link Summon Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf using Sacred and Ponix.
- Activate Island: destroy Ulcanix, then add Fire King Avatar Arvata from your Deck to your hand.
- Activate Ulcanix: Special Summon Fire King High Avatar Garunix from your Deck, under Sunlight Wolf's link.
- Activate Sunlight Wolf: add High Kirin from the GY to your hand.
You can leave the board as it is to get another cheap recycle on the opponent's turn, by summoning High Kirin or even Garunix Eternity, Hyang of the Fire Kings underneath Sunlight Wolf.
Or you can further extend this board by summoning Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames, giving you multiple options:
- Summon Sunlight Wolf under the other Extra Monster Zone, forcing opponents on Link decks to let you recover another card from the GY (or try to play around it).
- Summon High Garunix (or Sacred, if you need it) for Hyang material, or to setup a future board wipe.
- Summon Ponix, which can be used by High Kirin or Promethean Princess' effects, or can just be destroyed by Hyang so it returns to your hand next turn.
- Summon any FIRE monster, then Link Summon Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze using Promethean Princess and the summoned monster, thus setting up Promethean Princess in the GY.
If Nibiru hits
Depending on where Nibiru is activated, you can do the following:
• On the 5th summon (step 10)
Since it activates on the same Chain as Sunlight Wolf's effect, you can recover High Kirin as planned.
• If you choose to extend past step 11
Nibiru will remove Promethean Princess and the monster she summoned. That said, Promethean Princess will still act as an additional interruption thanks to her GY effect.
In both scenarios, you can start the interruption sequence by destroying Arvata with High Kirin's effect.
